In this blog we are going to discuss the murder of Tatiana Casap (35) and her husband Donald Mayer (51). Tatiana’s son Nikita (17) is alleged to have murdered the couple before living with their bodies for weeks.
There isn’t much info online about the family. Any social media appears to have been removed. We haven’t been able to confirm how long Donald and Tatiana were together for before the murders but online comments indicate it was a number of years and that he bought Tatiana and Nikita to America. Donald was the step-father to Nikita. According to the Independent, Tatiana and Nikita were originally from Moldova, a country in Eastern Europe.
Nikita was said to be a star student at Waukesha West High School. Up until February 2025, he had never missed a day at school.
Tatiana was a student at Carroll College. The last day she attended a class there was February 11. She was seen on CCTV that day at a store. Donald was also last seen alive at a market on that day.
Neighbors have said that the family were quiet and kept to themselves.
Next-door neighbor Kim Vonckx said she would occasionally see them walking their dog or taking out the trash.
She did say that in February 2025, she believed they may have been on vacation as she did not see them for a few weeks.
On Friday February 28, 2025, Judith Mayer called police for a welfare check on her son Donald. She told police that she had not been able to get in touch with Donald or Tatiana for weeks but that she had received a bunch of suspicious messages from Donald’s phone on February 23. Some reports also say that Nikita’s school phoned Judith to report that he had not attended for some time.
Judith spoke to the media about why she thought she had not been able to contact her family.
“I thought they were angry with me,” Judith explained. “This was all different and never done before and I was confused and upset, and I didn’t know what to do.”
Police went to the home at 9.44am that day. The original press release said:
On Friday, February 28th, 2025, at 9:44 a.m., the Waukesha County Communications Center received a call requesting a welfare check on a family residing in the Village of Waukesha.
Deputies responded to the scene and discovered one resident deceased. At this time, the whereabouts of the other family members remain unknown.
The Waukesha County Sheriff’s Department is actively investigating the situation and working to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident. Further information will be provided as it becomes available. At this time, the Waukesha County Sheriff’s Department does not believe there is a threat to the community.
On March 1, the Waukesha County Sheriff’s Department issued another statement that two individuals had been found deceased inside the house, and the one person of interest was currently in custody on separate charges.
It was quickly revealed that Nikita was the person of interest and that he had been arrested 800 miles from Waukesha. He was pulled over in Kansas by police who were conducting a traffic stop after he ran a stop sign. Nikita was driving Donald’s car and he had the family dog inside.
According to the criminal complaint, officers could see ‘a gun on the passenger side floorboard that was later determined to be a Smith and Wesson .357 Magnum firearm.’
It was the same type of gun that Donald had recently purchased.
Nikita was initially charged with operating a motor vehicle without the owner’s consent and theft of movable property, in connection with the car and the gun.
Police have since revealed that Tatiana was likely murdered on February 11. She was shot at least three times – twice in the stomach and once in the neck. It is believed that Donald died around the same time after Nikita allegedly shot him in the back of the head.
Police reviewed CCTV from the home and said that neither Donald or Tatiana were seen any time after February 11.
The following day, February 12, Nikita went to school. He stopped attending at some point after this. The criminal complaint says that one email was sent to the school about his absences.
When police finally went to the house on February 28, they said that Tatiana was lying on the first-floor hallway, with “her face blackened from decomposition [and] dried blood [was present] on the floor around her.”
A blanket and a towel had been draped over her body. Donald was found covered by a pile of clothing at around 5 p.m. in the office of the home.
His body was described in the complaint as “a male with a gray beard” found with a gunshot wound to the head.
The bodies were said to have been so decomposed beyond recognition that authorities were forced to use other ways to identify them.
It is thought that Nikita lived in the home with the bodies of his parents for almost two weeks. On February 23, he stole Donald’s VW Atlas and fled with $14,000 in cash. He contacted someone in an attempt to get fake plates for the vehicle.
Police have said that Nikita filmed Donald’s dead body a week after the murder. Police got the video from a camera memory card.
Nikita can apparently be seen standing over Donald’s body, preparing to take a picture. Another camera filmed the whole incident. Then he was heard in the clip saying, “So you can see him there. I can literally see the ******* rotting body,” reported NBC News.
According to the criminal complaint, someone, likely Nikita, was communicating via Donald’s phone after his murder. ‘Donald’ texted his sister on February 18 and said that he had been sick for a while and was going to take some time off social media.
We know that Donald legitimately last contacted his work place on February 11. ‘Donald’ also texted his workplace on February 13 and February 25 and said that he was sick and was unable to talk on the phone. He said he had conjunctivitis, was too hoarse to speak and needed to be out of work for at least two weeks.
Deputies also found out that there had been a vacation hold placed on mail at the family home during February.
A neighbor, Paul Frantz told police that at around 12.11pm on February 23, he observed Nikita leaving the residence in Donald’s vehicle.
On March 27, 2025, police issued a media release indicating that Nikita had been charged in relation to his parents’ deaths.

“The highest, highest counts that we have, quite frankly, in our country is what’s been alleged here,” Waukesha County Commissioner David Herring said in court, WISN reported.
Investigators have said that Nikita sent gory images to a female friend on Snapchat and he also made references to killing both his parents and himself.
The female said that Nikita gave her recommendations on artists she believed to be Russian, as well as Wikipedia pages concerning “fascist activists,” as well as materials related to “homo fascism” and “gore edits,” which the girl described as “gory, war and horror, with flashing sequences and flickering images with Russian music” that she found distasteful and asked him to stop sending, the complaint said.
Nikita allegedly told the female about his plan to kill his parents, but that he would say it was all hypothetical.

Witness A stated she told the defendant he sounded like a school shooter and it made her feel extremely uncomfortable and the defendant again informed her he did not have access to guns and it was all hypothetical. The defendant did later tell her he would befriend someone with a gun and then would steal the gun and he would use it to kill his parents.”
“When asked how the defendant felt about his home life, Witness A stated the defendant told her his home life was perfectly happy and he had nothing to complain about,” the complaint said.
That female also told police that Nikita was communicating with someone online in Russia about assassinating President Trump. She told him to ‘get help’ multiple times. Nikita also threatened the female and said that if anyone found out what he had said to her, ‘It wouldn’t end well.’
The tip led investigators to find messages in his phone to someone in Russia and other unidentified individuals as he considered the idea of escaping to Ukraine, officials said.
“How long will I need to hide before I will be moved to Ukraine? One to two months?” Nikita asked, “I should probably brush up on my Russian, because I can understand just fine but speaking is harder.” In another Telegram thread with an unknown person, Nikita asks, “So while in Ukraine, I’ll be able to live a normal life? Even if when it’s found out I did it?”
While he was on the run, Nikita used Donald’s debit card at numerous places in multiple states. Police also found searches on Nikita’s phone for bitcoin ATMs. There were also text messages from Nikita’s phone to Donald’s that were then copied and sent to others. “Further, there were emails on (Mayer’s) device confirming different cryptocurrencies sent to unknown individuals,” the complaint said.
Donald’s mother Judith has spoken about her loss.
“I don’t know how I’m going to live with it,” Judith said through tears. “How do I get up each day and go about a normal day with this heavy in my heart? I just don’t know how.”
Authorities have said that Nikita allegedly killed his parents so that he could”obtain the financial means and autonomy necessary” to kill President Donald Trump and overthrow the U.S. government.
Court documents show investigators are pursuing federal charges including conspiracy, presidential assassination and use of weapons of mass destruction.
The sheriff’s department issued a search warrant and say they found material on the Nikita’s phone related to “The Order of Nine Angles,” which is “a network of individuals holding new-Nazi racially motivated extremist views,” according to investigators.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation reviewed documents allegedly written by Nikita, which calls for the assassination of Trump and the start of a revolution to “save the white race,” according to federal court documents.
The alleged writings shows images of Adolf Hitler with the following text: “HAIL HITLER HAIL THE WHITE RACE HAIL VICTORY,” according to court documents.
“He was in touch with other parties about his plan to kill the President and overthrow the government of the United States. And he paid for, at least in part, a drone and explosives to be used as a weapon of mass destruction to commit an attack,” investigators said in the federal affidavit.
“Other parties, with whom Casap was in contact, appear to have been aware of his plan and action and to have provided assistance to Casap in carrying them out,” according to the affidavit.
