In this blog we are going to discuss two separate cases where people have gone missing during road trips.
Ganna Kovrizhynkh
The first case is that of missing woman Ganna Kovrizhynkh (37). Ganna also goes by the alias Angel Volnaya on most of her social media.
Ganna has been missing since July 5, 2025. She sent her mother a strange last text message before she vanished.
We don’t know too much about Ganna’s life except that she had been living in Hallandale Beach, Florida before her disappearance. Some posts indicate that she also has a daughter. She posted a LOT on social media right before she vanished.

In one video, Ganna can be seen reading from the Bible, with the caption, ‘Two commandments. No one escape. Who kill will die forever.’
‘There is no way to escape. The punishment is coming. The rapture is coming. It is already on the earth. There is only a few years left… I’m a prophet,’ she said.
In another video posted on the same day, she posted from a church and showed a bag of ‘supplies’ including water, oil, a solar panel, batteries, a walkie talkie, and a gas mask.
‘I just left everything that I have,’ she said. ‘Time is very close. Prepare all the churches, they should be ready.’
‘We are already at the last moment… this is only like three years and the anti-Christ will sit on his throne.’

In July 2025, one of Ganna’s friends made a Reddit post, looking for her:
On July 5, Ganna sent her mother a photograph of a letter. The exact contents of the letter have not been made public, but we do know that Ganna sent her mother the GPS coordinates listed in the Reddit post.
According to Namus:
On 07/05/2025, Kovrizhnykh’s mother received a photograph of a letter along with GPS coordinates from Potrero, California. The letter essentially provided instruction to give her personal assets to her mother. On 07/12/2025, Kovrizhnykh’s Jeep Grand Cherokee and camper trailer were found apparently abandoned near the 25000 block of Potrero Park Drive.
Law enforcement have spoken about the case:
“We aren’t sure what her destination was,” Sgt. Jacob Klepach told NBC San Diego. “We believe she was just kind of touring the country and she left her vehicle in Potrero and never came back to her vehicle.”
“Kovrizhynkh’s current whereabouts and status are unknown,” the office wrote. “Sheriff’s detectives say it is possible she may have crossed the U.S./Mexico border into the Tecate area of Baja California, Mexico.”
“We don’t really have any belief one way or another at this point if there is foul play involved or if she just strictly voluntarily left,” Sgt Klepach said.
The friend who made the post for Ganna on Reddit has been answering questions on the post.
I suppose this was provoked by the use of some psychedelic substances
Ganna has a number of tattoos on her arms and hands, per investigators, and she is 5 feet, 5 inches tall, weighing 100 pounds, with blond hair and blue eyes. She may be wearing a wig.
Matthew Spencer
The second case we are going to discuss is regarding missing man Matthew Spencer (28).
Matthew has been missing since August 6, 2025.
Matthew had been living in California and he had apparently decided to move to Texas for a fresh start.
Matthew had been struggling and was said to have just undergone a relationship breakup. He was also struggling financially.
“He just wanted to find somewhere to fit in with no drama,” his twin sister Kara said.
Matthew loved fishing and had been told that Houston might be a good spot for him to settle.
“I think it was just [a] change-of-scenery-type thing,” said cousin Randi Green. “He was done with that part of it and plus breaking up with his girlfriend too. I think maybe he just wanted to get away.”
Matthew drove from California to Las Vegas in his Hyundai Tucson, where he stayed with his other sister from August 1-4, 2025.
After leaving Las Vegas and getting back on the road, Matthew texted Kara.
“His last message was, ‘What’s for dinner and how was your night?’ It’s him being worried about other people, you know, but nothing in our message was out of the normal,” Kara said.
She went to bed and never answered.
Kara said that she was then waiting to hear that Matthew had arrived in Houston. While she was waiting, something strange happened to her.
“My legs were just really sore for some reason,” she said.
The drive from Las Vegas to Houston is around 1,500 miles and according to Google maps, should have taken around 21 hours.
“I have a 4-year-old, so it keeps me busy. I feel bad, I should have been more talkative to him, but my aunt’s the one who noticed that he wasn’t answering,” Kara said.
Matthew’s last contact was on Wednesday August 6, 2025. He told family that he was traveling through Cloudcroft, New Mexico. This is around 720 miles from Las Vegas – around 11 hours of driving. So this seemed to be plausible as he had left Las Vegas two days prior – accounting for stops, sightseeing etc.
The last communication from Matthew’s phone was sent at 10.54pm on August 6.
“Everybody’s trying to call him because he hasn’t called and we don’t know what’s going on,” Randi said. “His phone’s going straight to voicemail.”
After the family were not able to get in contact with Matthew because his phone was turned off, they asked social media for help.
“We went on TikTok live, and we asked people about the area, and we were like, you know, if somebody was going from here to here, what routes would they take?” his cousin Randi said. “We went through every city on each route. I think there was three that we had it narrowed down to, and we had called hospitals. We had called jails. This is morbid, but we had called morgues.”
The family were thankfully able to get access to Matthew’s Google account. And what they found was shocking.
“He was searching, like, my Hyundai Tucson won’t turn over, why is it clicking?” Kara said. “One was like, where am I? What time is it in Houston, Texas?”
They were also able to see Matthew’s location via his account. He had not been in New Mexico like he had stated. He was in Arizona, west of Flagstaff.
“None of his Google searches were showing him in New Mexico; it was showing him in Arizona,” Kara said. “So I’m thinking maybe he was lost, or maybe he thought he was in New Mexico.”
Flagstaff is around 250 miles/3 hours 45 min drive from Las Vegas. If he left two days prior to arriving there, what was he doing to pass the time?

The family understandably have many questions.
“We don’t know if there’s anything missing out of the car, because we can’t find the car,” Randi said. “That’s the hardest part, if his car was broke down. Then, where did it go from there?”
“Missing in America” founder Rhonda Dequier took a team of volunteers to search the area where Matthew’s Google account said that he had been in.
“The car has to be on one of those pathways. If it was not working properly, it couldn’t have got too far off the beaten path,” Rhonda said.
Not too far from the road, a Hyundai was spotted from above. The team scrambled to the area at ground level and discovered an abandoned silver Tucson.
But it wasn’t the right year.
Kara has spoken about why she thinks her legs were sore.
“My legs, I think, were sore before I even knew he was missing,” she said. “Like, maybe he was walking. I don’t know if that’s possible for me to feel that.”
Kara has said that her brother is loved and that she doesn’t believe he would intentionally leave and go off-grid.
“[I] just want everybody to pray and share his face as much as possible, ’cause somebody has seen something,” she said.
“I’m just hurting,” said Kara, who is hoping that someone who might have spotted her brother will come forward to help. “I can’t think about him without crying.”
Flagstaff police told the media that they had just one hit on a license plate reader at the off-ramp of I-40 and Butler on Aug. 5, 2025, at 2:12 p.m.
They say if he had traveled into the city of Flagstaff, they believe they would have gotten more plate hits.
Flagstaff PD released a statement:
