FBI Seeking Information on three child murders

In this blog, we are going to discuss three cases that involve child murder that have absolutely flown under the radar. All of the cases currently feature on the FBI website, under the ‘Seeking Information’ section.

The first case is a very current one and it is about the murder of Maleeka Boone. The FBI are now involved in her case.

According to media reports, Maleeka (8) went by the name Mollie or Mullie. (The GoFundMe for her says Mullie and the media says Mollie). Her family and friends have said that she was a beautiful little girl who was always full of sunshine. She was said to be loving, happy and gave the biggest hugs.

Mollie was last seen alive at around 4.15pm on Thursday, January 15, 2026. According to the FBI, she left one family member’s home at that time and was meant to return to her own home. Both houses are in the same neighborhood and are close to each other.

The area where Mollie lived is Coalmine, Arizona, on the Navajo Nation. This area is in Northern Arizona/Navajo Nation near Flagstaff.

Some information about the area:

The population of the Coalmine Canyon chapter (Coalmine Mesa), a Navajo Nation community in Arizona, is approximately 640 to 691 residents. Located in the Navajo Nation, this area covers roughly 612 square miles, resulting in a very low population density of about 1 person per square mile.

Mollie was reported missing at around 6pm that day.

“She has not been seen or heard from since,” The Navajo Police Department said at the time. “The family was [concerned] for her welfare since it is out of character for her to be gone for an extended period of time.”

Following her disappearance, authorities sent out a Turquoise Alert, which is a rapid public notification system in Arizona for missing or endangered individuals under 65, including tribal members, to aid in their safe recovery.

In the Turquoise Alert, Mollie was described as “a Native American female, 4 feet 5 inches tall, 50 lbs., with brown eyes and long, brown hair with French braids on both sides.” Authorities noted that she was last seen wearing “red jacket, blue jeans and cowboy boots.”

Authorities — including the Arizona Department of Public Safety, U.S. Marshals Service, missing person unit, Coconino County Sheriff’s Office, FBI and NDCI — searched for Mollie after she was reported missing. Volunteers in the Coalmine community also executed their own search with a briefing and team assignments.

At around 8.30am on January 16, 2026, Mollie’s body was located in a field within the Coalmine community.

After her body was found, law enforcement released this statement (all errors are theirs):

Law enforcement will be presence in the area with FBI and other law enforcement agencies. Coalmine area will be on lockdown until further notice. All residence will be asked to remain within their home area as law enforcement conduct further investigation.

The FBI has set up a command station in Coalmine, Arizona and a search continues for any information. Details of when Maleeka Boone was last seen from her family and community members is still under investigation.

The Navajo Police Department, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and the Navajo Department of Criminal Investigation are conducting a joint investigation into the disappearance and death of Maleeka Boone.

The FBI is offering a reward of up to $25,000 for the arrest and conviction of those responsible for the death of Mollie.

Anyone with information about Mollie’s death is asked to contact the FBI at 1-800-CALL-FBI (1-800-225-5324) or email tips.fbi.gov or contact the Navajo Police Department Tuba City District at 928-283-3111 / 3112.

The second case is about the murder of Wisconsin girl Marvayah ‘Marva’ Darby (12). There has been very little other coverage on it.

On Friday June 13, 2025, Marvayah was asleep in her bed at around 1.20am. Her home was in the 5000 block of N. 73rd Street in Milwaukee.

An unknown vehicle drove past the home and the occupants opened fire. Authorities have said they believe the vehicle may have been a silver or gray SUV.

Numerous shots were fired into the home and one of them struck Marvayah in the head, fatally injuring her.

Her murder occurred during an uptick in gun violence in the surrounding area in a short time frame. This info about the series of incidents is from the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel:

At least seven shootings in a little more than a week have left five people dead and 10 people injured near West Hampton Avenue in Milwaukee.

It’s a startling rash of violence for residents like Arlene Knox, who saw some of the violence spill out near her home as she microwaved her dinner and looked out her kitchen window.

“This stuff needs to stop,” she said. “You’re scared to go in your yard.”

Six shootings since June 6 have occurred on Hampton Avenue or within a few blocks, including a quadruple shooting and an exchange of gunfire that led to an injured Milwaukee police officer and suspect, and a double shooting June 19 that killed one person and injured another.

In December 2025, law enforcement pleaded for the public’s help in the case.

“We definitely need the public’s help,” said Christopher Farrell, assistant special agent in charge of the Milwaukee division of the FBI. “Someone knows what happened.”

Police said that they had received some tips in the case, but nothing that would help to solve it.  Milwaukee Police Department Inspector Paul Lough said that it was unclear why the shooting took place, though they did not believe Marvayah was the target.

At the time, police said that Marvayah’s case was one of the only cases from 2025 that police have no leads on at all. Earlier this year, the Milwaukee police reported their clearance rate for homicides at 82%, or the percentage of homicide cases that are solved. That figure also factors in cases of past homicides that are solved this year.

“This is one of those cases that have just kind of gone completely cold,” Inspector Lough said. “It’s so important because here we have a young 12-year-old girl, asleep in her house, getting killed where she’s supposed to be safe.”

Marvayah’s mother Melonie Davis Darby also spoke in December 2025.

“It’s been hell. I have a void in my life now that will never be filled,” Melonie said. “I wish I could just put it all behind me, but I can’t. Because I gotta live with it.”

“I’m hoping that it brings some type of awareness to whoever is out there, and they know they did it,” Melonie said. “They say hate is a strong feeling, but I hate [who killed my daughter].”

The FBI is offering a reward of up to $10,000 for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the individual(s) responsible for Marvayah’s murder.

The third case today is regarding the murder of Illinois boy Cash Russell (9).

Cash was murdered in a triple homicide that occurred in October 2025.  Cash was murdered along with his cousin Mhynesha Day and a man named Devione Brady (21).

The Sangamon County Sheriff’s Office responded to reports of a shooting at a home in the 3000 block of Hoover Avenue in Springfield, Illinois on October 9, 2025.

Some info about the area:

Springfield is the capital city of the U.S. state of Illinois. Its population was 114,394 at the 2020 United States census, which makes it the state’s seventh-most populous city,  the second-most populous outside of the Chicago metropolitan area (after Rockford), and the most populous in Central Illinois.

Springfield, IL, has a high overall crime rate of 55.65 per 1,000 residents, with property crime significantly impacting the city at a rate of 47.63 per 1,000 residents. The city experienced 11 homicides in 2025, an increase from 9 in 2024, with incidents often linked to violence involving firearms and gangs, including cases involving automatic weapons and arrests.

The three victims were found inside.  There is very little information about the relationship between the three available online – we have only deduced that Cash and Mhynesha were related after reading obituaries.

Cash’s mother is Dorothy Jackson and this is part of Mhynesha’s obituary:

She leaves to cherish her precious memory:her beloved son A’Mhyri Day,her devoted mother Kanisha Mahr,her sisters Kamyjah and Namiyah Bias,her brothers Camreon Townsend and Thailin Mahr, all of Springfield, Illinois;her loving grandparents Joseph and Jolene Jackson of Dallas, Texas;her aunts Tia Mahr and Dorothy Jackson of Springfield, Illinois;her uncle Trevonte Jackson of Dallas, Texas;

Cash’s obituary:

He leaves to cherish his memory his devoted mother Dorothy Jackson of Springfield, Illinois, and his father Marcus Russell of Chicago, Illinois. His brothers Carlos Day, Markhi Russell, and Chase Russell of Springfield; Marcus Russell Jr., Markaya Russell, and Mariah Russell of Chicago; and his “pup brother,” Cross Russell. Cash also leaves his grandparents Joseph and Jolene Jackson of Dallas, Texas, and Mary Hibbler of Chicago, Illinois; along with his favorite baby cousin A’Mhyri Day and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

There is no mention of Cash or Mhynesha in each other’s obituaries which is strange.

In terms of Devione, it is unknown what his relationship was to any of the home occupants.  This info was published in October 2025 by newschannel20.com:

Detectives have conducted numerous interviews and determined that Devione Brady, one of the victims, was not a resident of the home and had no known affiliation with its occupants. Investigators are working to uncover why Brady was at the residence and his potential role in the events leading up to the incident.

Following autopsies, it was confirmed that all of the victims died from gunshot wounds.

In December 2025, investigators said that they believed the attack was targeted.  Cash’s mother Dorothy spoke to the media.

“We are holding onto hope that someone out there knows something no matter how small that can help bring answers, accountability, and justice for Cash. If you saw anything, heard anything, or have any information about what happened, we are begging you to please come forward,” Dorothy said. “Your information could be the piece that brings peace to a grieving family, comfort to a devastated twin brother, and justice to a precious child whose life was stolen.

“Please help us honor Cash’s memory by helping us to find the truth. If you know anything that can help us, find who did this, please speak up. Your courage could change everything.”

The FBI is offering a reward of up to $25,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the individual(s) responsible for the death of Cash.
