On November 5, 2019, Kayla Faircloth was apparently testing out a car in her driveway that had mechanical issues.
The Sheriff’s Office, withholding the names of anyone involved, gave this account, :
The boy’s mother and grandmother were in their yard the testing an SUV that had mechanical issues. The vehicle started to stall. The mother put it in reverse, hit a piece of wood, drove forward and then reversed again.
At this point, they noticed their dog running free in the yard and realized the boy could have gotten out of the house, too. They looked around the vehicle and found the boy lying on the ground in front of the SUV. He was flown to Tampa General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The deceased child has since been named on social media as Joshua Bronson (2).
Kayla quickly took to social media to mourn her child.
Unbelievably, it also emerged that this was not the first time that Kayla had lost a child in these circumstances.
On March 18, 2015, Kayla’s daughter Izabella (2) was in a vehicle with her fraternal great-grandmother Alice Barber (69). Kayla was not in the car. They were driving to pick up children from a nearby bus stop. For some unknown reason and in a moment of terrible judgement, Alice allowed Izabella and one of her brothers to sit on the floor of the car, with the door open. WHILE IT WAS MOVING.
Izabella fell out of the vehicle and went under one of the wheels. She did not survive this incident.
How can this happen TWICE in one family? Was this just truly just terrible luck?
Not long after Joshua passed, Kayla began making strange posts on Facebook. She let everyone know that the car she had been testing, the same vehicle that killed her son, was ‘good to go’.
It emerged that Kayla did not have custody of all of her children.
Kayla and her family had been investigated in the past by the Department of Children and Families.
In summary, Kayla did not have custody of Izabella, at the time of Izabella’s death. Izabella was removed from her at birth. She did not complete the mandated drug rehabilitation that was specified by the Department.
No charges have been laid in relation to the death of either Izabella or Joshua.
So, my thoughts on this (and I am not victim blaming), but there is no way this should happen to one family TWICE. It’s the same with drowning, a cosleeping accident, leaving kids in a car etc. Once is an accident, but where does the ‘oops’ line end and when do people start being held accountable for their actions? And yes I know that there are different people involved in both deaths here but it’s still two deceased siblings.
Kids need to be watched. They should not be unattended around water, cars, medication etc. Accidents happen, but should they really happen twice?
