“As far as we know, her dog was involved. She may have turned around to tie the dog or do something with the dog and she turned around and he had left — it was just that quick,”

On Thursday a provincial dive team arrived to search the Salmon River.
A group member found the area in question. The red line is around where he went missing and Lepper Brook where the boots were found.

Mums post.
On Sunday, searchers went along the river to Highway 102 and walked the riverbed as the tide was low. Truro police issued a second release Monday to say that additional resources, including an underwater camera, would be used in Lepper Brook.

On Tuesday 12th May 2020 they gave an update stating they have exhausted the search in that area and rumours started circulating online

The search then took a new direction, with investigators using a mannequin to see where the river may have carried Dylan to.

I sincerely hope good comes from this. It’s difficult to imagine Dylan has survived this long alone. And looking at the waterway, it is very easy to imagine a curious child leaning in to play in the rushing water and losing balance. It’s also easy to imagine worse scenarios. Let’s find him, first. Pray for clear weather. Pray for eyes to see. Pray nobody else gets hurt or lost. And may we all learn to be a little more diligent, a little more observant, and a lot less judgemental. I lost my pre-schooler in a busy store and freaked! The parking lot was full of plates from all over. Anyone could have taken her. I simply turned to pick something off a shelf. When I raised my eyes from the cart, she was gone. I know the fear. I know the ache. And I know the guilt. But it does happen just that fast. A store clerk returned her to me. I was fortunate. I’ve learned to deal with facts, not fantasy. The fact is that a child is missing and a family is hurting. Can we just leave it at that for now? Let the trained and qualified do their work.
