Missing child Addie Rae (3) has been found deceased

Addie Rae (3) has been reported from Mesa County, Colorado.

The Sheriff’s Office said she wondered off near her home at 29 ½ Rd. and 30 ½ Rd. near Orchard Avenue.

She was last seen wearing an orange fox shirt and orange and blue pants.

She was last seen at 6 P.M. and reported missing at 6:15 P.M.

Mesa County Search and Rescue, Grand Junction Police Department and Child Protective Services all searched for her.

The Mesa County Sheriff’s Office said, “after an extensive search of the neighborhood where Addie Rae was last seen, and several miles of the surrounding community as well as the Grand Valley Canal, the search has been suspended for the night. The search will resume in the morning, including a daylight search of the canal and surrounding area,” around 11 P.M. Saturday on their Facebook page.

The Grand Valley Irrigation Channel is in the process of being drained in the search for Addie.

According to the Mesa County Sheriff’s Office, search crews in a helicopter spotted something in the water around 2:15 p.m. Deputies and investigators investigated further and found the body of a small child in the canal near 29 Road matching the description of Adelesia. 

The Mesa County Coroner’s Office is working to identify the body and will release their name once next-of-kin is notified.

  1. Could she have ran home to her parents and they are hiding her? It seems strange the dogs did not pick up a scent of her. I know the weather was bad and snowing but could she have begged shelter or hidden some place to get warm.
