The Disappearance of Suzy Lamplugh-

On July 5th 2019 UK news are reporting that investigators have started searching land next to a former tipping site in Worcestershire for clues in the disappearance of 25 year old estate agent Suzy Lamplugh.

Suzy

Suzy went missing 33 years ago on 28 July 1986 in Fulham, London. She was working and going to show a property to a client called “Mr Kipper”, she was never seen again and no evidence has ever been found. She was declared dead in 1994.

Her office diary recorded the details of the appointment as: “12.45 Mr. Kipper – 37 Shorrolds O/S”. The ‘Shorrolds’ in question referred to Shorrolds Road, but this final aspect of the address was not included in the entry. The “O/S” annotation means “outside the property”. Witness reported a woman talking to a man on the street and then getting into his car.

Her car was later found a mile and a half away, with her purse still inside.

Famed British Serial killer Steve Wright was working on the QE2 ship at the same time as Suzy. He was on shore leave at the time of her disappearance and his ex wife remembers him talking to Suzy on board. Wright was looked into as a possible suspect in the case but police describe any link as  “speculative”.

Police believe the most likely suspect in Suzys disappearance is murderer and rapist John Cannan, who is currently serving three life sentences and has been recommended to never be released .

While the CPS decided that there was insufficient evidence to charge him, Scotland Yard held a press conference where officers named him as the man they believe murdered Lamplugh.

Suzy’s parents started the Suzy Lamplugh Trust, which is tasked with-“Working towards a safer society” The trust is very active with their ‘Stay Safe at Work’ campaign aimed at lone workers.

Her father, Paul.

Sadly, her father Paul (OBE), died in 2018 aged 87. Never knowing what happened to his daughter. Hopefully this new search will find the answers the rest of her family have waited so many years for.
